Morrow (August 1882 – February 27, 1953)[1] was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Washington and Jefferson College (1908–1911, 1919–1920, 1924–1925) and at Bethany College in West Virginia (1929), compiling a career college football record of 49–27–5. He attended Bethany College and graduated from Washington & Jefferson.[2] He was one of the most widely known coaches in the eastern United States.[2] The New York Times called him "one of the best football coaches in the United States."[3] He was known for his skill in developing the line.[3] He spent a total of 20 years at Washington & Jefferson.[4] Morrow was later the manager of the South Pittsburgh Water Co. He died at the age of 70, on February 27, 1953, at St. Joseph Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[5] Head coaching record{{CFB Yearly Record Start | type = coach | team = | conf = | bowl = | poll = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Washington & Jefferson | conf = Independent | startyear = 1908 | endyear = 1911 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1908 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 10–2–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1909 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 8–1–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1910 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 3–4–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1911 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 6–4 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Washington & Jefferson | conf = Independent | startyear = 1919 | endyear = 1920 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1919 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 5–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1920 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 6–3–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Washington & Jefferson | conf = Independent | startyear = 1919 | endyear = 1920 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1924 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 7–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1925 | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 6–2–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Washington & Jefferson | overall = 48–20–5 | confrecord = }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Bethany Bison | conf = West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference | startyear = 1929 | endyear = single }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1929 | name = Bethany | overall = 1–7 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Bethany | overall = 1–7 | confrecord = }}{{CFB Yearly Record End | overall = 49–27–5 | bowls = no | poll = no | polltype = | legend = no }} See also
