The bout was the main-event of a Televisa boxing card at the Palenque of Morelos Park in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.[5] WBA World Bantamweight ChampionshipDe La Mora fought against Kōki Kameda for the WBA Bantamweight Championship in front of 9,500 spectators (announced by the organizer)[6] at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, on August 31, 2011.[4] He opened a cut above Kameda's left eye with his right cross in the third round, but was knocked down once in the same round. As a result, he lost via a unanimous decision on the judges' scorecards. The three judges' scores were 113–114, 113–115 and 112–115.[7] This card was staged by Kameda Promotions whose president is Kōki Kameda himself,[8] as the TBS televised co-main event to Hugo Cázares vs.Tomonobu Shimizu.
