EMS Software removes the barriers to inspired work by connecting people, tools and technology within a single room scheduling platform. EMS was purchased in June 2018 by Accruent, LLC. The software was created by Dean Evans & Associates, a Colorado-based developer of meeting and Event scheduling, Resource management, academic scheduling, shared workspace management (i.e., office hoteling), web-based calendaring, and online registration. Dean Evans, a business consultant and software engineer, founded the company in 1986.^[1]

EMS Software currently has more than 2.5 million users, works with 2,200-plus facilities and manages millions of meetings and events around the globe each year.^[2] The company serves a wide variety of industries, providing enterprise-level software specifically designed for higher education, law firms, professional services, governmental entities, cultural centers, health care establishments, corporations and non-profits.^[3]

In 2008, Software Magazine included EMS in its “Software 500” list of the world’s largest software and technology service providers.^[4] The same year, Deliotte ranked EMS as the No. 24 company in its Technology Fast 50 Program for Colorado.^[5] INC. 5000 named the company in its list of the 5,000 fastest-growing, private companies in the country in 2008, 2009 and 2010.^[6][7] In 2011, The Denver Business Journal named EMS among the top five Denver-area software developers.^[8]

Software giant Oracle Corporation made EMS a Gold Level Partner in 2010, with the shared goal of integrating EMS with Oracle’s popular PeopleSoft software.^[9]

In 2012, EMS Software was named Customer Service Department of the Year in the Computer Software category by the American Business Stevie Awards.^[10] The company was also named to the Inc. (magazine) 500|5000^[11] and the Software Magazine software 500 list.

In April, 2014, EMS Software announced that it received a strategic growth investment from JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software and technology-enabled services companies.^[12] In July, 2015, EMS Software acquired EmergingSoft for its technology integration with Microsoft® Outlook.^[13] On January 4, 2016, Dean Evans & Associates formally changed the company name to EMS Software, LLC.
