Devesh is an Indian masculine name which means praised by deities or king of God . EtymologyAccording to Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, Nepali and its grammar, the name "Devesh" is composed (sandhi) of the two words "Dev" and "Esh". They combine and form Devesh.[1] Dev (देव in Devanagari script, {{IPA-hns|ˈd̪eːʋə|pron}}) is the Sanskrit word for "God" or "deity". Esh (ईश in Devanagari script) is also a Sanskrit word for king, head, leader or Lord. MeaningThe name Devesh means Lord Of The God. In the Hindu religion, Devesh is a name of the god Shiva.[2] In Hinduism's book of Shostani, prayers to Shiva use the name Devesh.[3] In Shrimad Bhagwad Gita, Goddess Parvati, while listening to a story (MotohLodo) from Lord Shiva, calls him Deveshwar. A second reference is found in Bhagwad Gita which establishes the meaning of the name Devesh. The literal meaning remains "Lord of the Gods" (Bhagawan noh Baap), but is used to address Sri Krishna in his form as Vishvarupa.[4] The reference to the meaning occurs in the Bhagwad Gita chapter 11, verse number 25, where Arjuna addresses Sri Krishna by this name.[5] In different scripts
Naming cultureAs Esh's meaning in Sanskrit is king, Head, Leader who worshiped as Eshwar (God). Probably this belief arises from the fact that many Hindu names that end with "Esh or Ish" actually refer to God.
