It has about 1,600 inhabitants. It lies nearby the city of Kladno. EtymologyFormerly known as Dogz, Dogza. In German Doges. HistoryFirst mentioned as Dogz in 1385. Sandstone was quarried there minimally since the 14th century. The sandstone was used for construction in nearby Prague during the reign of Charles IV.
