He played club level rugby union (RU) for Sandal RUFC,[2] and representative level rugby league (RL) for England (Under-21s), and Yorkshire (captain), and at club level for Featherstone Rovers (Heritage № 331) (captain), and Wakefield Trinity (Heritage № 637), as a {{rlp|fb}}, or {{rlp|ce}}, i.e. number 1, or, 3 or 4,[3] and coached at club level for Keighley.
