The song appears on the soundtrack of the 1996 film Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.[1] The project of these artists was a part of Island Records' exploration into the gospel music scene.[2] The song peaked in the top 30 of the U.S. R&B chart. Proceeds from the sale of the single were donated to the rebuilding of black churches destroyed by arson.[3] A total of $225,000 was raised from this song for this purpose.[4] References1. ^Contemporary Black Biography, Shirelle Phelps, page 48 {{1990s-song-stub}}2. ^{{Cite book|url = https://books.google.com/books?id=rA4EAAAAMBAJ|title = Billboard|last = Inc|first = Nielsen Business Media|date = 1995-10-28|publisher = Nielsen Business Media, Inc.|language = en}} 3. ^Contemporary Black Biography, Shirelle Phelps, page 48 4. ^{{cite news| newspaper=Call and Post |date=28 November 1996 |title=Ministers receive check from ADL/UL to rebuild burned churches}} 2 : Kirk Franklin songs|1995 songs |
