Scootering (Scootering Magazine) is a British-based magazine on the subject of motor scooters, mainly classic Lambretta and Vespa scooters. Available only in the English language, it is sold the world over.
Scootering Magazine was first published in 1985 by Myatt McFarlene Publishing. In 1990 MMP bought rival magazine Scooter Scene from publisher Stuart Lanning, who brought everything back from MMP and set up Scootering Publications in 1991. He remained owner, publisher and editor until he sold Scootering Publications to Mortons Media Group at the end of 2002. Former editors include: Mike Roberts (1985–1987), Gareth Brown (1987–1990), Stuart Lanning (1990–1991), Steve Berry (1991), Stuart Lanning (1991–2002), Sticky (2003), Andy Gillard (2003–present). The magazine concentrates mainly on the classic Vespa and Lambretta models and the scene surrounding them, from Mods to scooter boys, 50s racers to modern day revivalists. They also feature other classic scooter brands from the 50s and 60s such as Heinkel, Maico, BSA, Zundapp, and conduct road tests on modern day scooters as well. Over the years numerous scooter-riding celebraties have appeared on the front cover of Scootering magazine including Paul Weller, Mani (Stone Roses/ Primal Scream), Steve Cradock/ Ocean Color Scene, Buster Bloodvessel and Madness.
