释义 |
Dutch Water Dreams (also known as DWD) is an Olympic artificial whitewater and surfing centre, near Zoetermeer in The Netherlands. It is the only course of its kind in the country. DWD found corrosion on the metal parts in the FlowRider area during a periodically check in January. This corrosion adopted aggressive forms compared to the last measurement. Based on these findings it was decided to close the FlowRiders area immediately before use. An architectural research was hired to check the building extensively. The main conclusions are clear: the personal safety of the visitors and the structural safety of the building can’t be guaranteed. DWD has no choice and has to close the entire building. At the moment it is not clear when the centre will re-open. Whitewater course designWater is pumped electrically down a series of drops, fashioned in concrete and between plastic bollards. SurfingThe centre contains a FlowRider sheet wave surfing system. External links
