The dam is {{convert|66|ft|m}} high, and {{convert|248|ft|m}} long along the crest.[4] Construction of the dam began in 1928 and was completed the next year.[5] It is currently owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and operated by the Kittitas Reclamation District.
