Their schemes - and the companies themselves - were taken up by the Great Northern Railway, which built a line looping through the villages to the north-east of Bradford: from {{rws|Laisterdyke}}, through {{stnlnk|Eccleshill}}, Idle and {{rws|Thackley}} to Shipley.
