The feature was charted and named in 1821 by Robert Fildes after the Eddystone Rocks off Plymouth, England. LocationThe rocks are centred at {{coord|62|35|54.9|S|61|23|11.6|W|}} which is {{convert|3.54|km|mi|1|abbr=on}} west-southwest of The Pointers, {{convert|4.73|km|mi|abbr=on}} west-northwest of Cape Sheffield, Rugged Island, and {{convert|4.5|km|mi|abbr=on}} northwest of Bekas Rock (British mapping in 1821, 1822, 1933 and 1968, French in 1937, Argentine in 1946, 1957 and 1980, Chilean in 1971, and Bulgarian in 2009 and 2017).
