It is connected to the village of Eiksund on the island of Hareidlandet by the Eiksund Bridge. Eika is connected to the mainland of Norway by the Eiksund Tunnel.[1] The {{convert|2.5|km2|adj=on}} island is about {{convert|3.7|km}} long and about {{convert|2|km}} wide. It is located about {{convert|200|m}} south of the island of Hareidlandet. There are only a few permanent residents on the island. The island was part of Herøy Municipality until 1964.
