Eleftherios Foulidis (born 1948) is a Greek icon painter, born in Drepano, Kozani. He took his first impressions and practical Art lessons from his father Theofilos, who was a stage designer for the National Theatre of North Greece. Since then Mr. Eleftherios Foulidis continued with Agiography lessons from a student of Photios Kontoglou and still has very successful years. AchievementsIn GreeceHe presented his work in personal exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. In his own capital city of Kozani and county he painted over 30 churches and, also, the Historical - Folklore and Natural History Museum of Kozani. In UKSince 1987, he has lived in London with his family and has been painting icons for churches of the Archdiocese of Great Britain such as: the church of St. John the Baptist in North London, the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St. Michael in Goldens Green, where he has decorated the church and he has painted the chapel of Saint Thecla. Also he has decorated the church of the Twelve Apostles in Kentish Lane, outside London. Rest of the worldEleftherios Foulidis has worked in various places and his work features in Greek Orthodox Churches round the world including some in Germany, Canada, Cuba, Cyprus and Ireland.
