The English Amateur Billiards Championship, organised by the English Amateur Billiards Association (EABA), is a billiards tournament dating back to March 1888. In the first championship Hugh Lonsdale of Manchester defeated Joseph Tither of Harpurhey by 500–356 in the final, played on the evening of 28 March 1888 at Orme's Rooms in Manchester.[1][2] The 2015 champion was Rob Hall, from Lincoln, who defeated Phil Mumford, from Bury St Edmunds, a repeat of the result in 2014.[3] References1. ^{{cite news |title=Billiards – The National Amateur Championship |work=Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser |date=29 March 1888 |accessdate=6 February 2016 |url=http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000206/18880329/001/0003 |via=British Newspaper Archive |subscription=yes}} 2. ^http://www.mocavo.co.uk/The-Sporting-Chronicle-Annual-a-Book-of-Records-in-Every-Branch-of-Sport-1914-15-Volume-38-39/341804/659 3. ^http://www.eaba.co.uk/eaba/?p=7018 External links
