They have won the Campeonato Gaúcho once. HistoryThe club was founded on July 14, 1913, in Porto Alegre.[1] They won the Campeonato Gaúcho in 1929, and the Second Level in 2010. Cruzeiro competed in the Série D in 2011, when the club was eliminated in the first stage of the competition. João de Assis Moreira, the father of the legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho, had a brief spell with the club. He died in 1988 when Ronaldinho was eight after suffering a fatal heart attack in the family swimming pool.[2] Achievements
