It is a stringybark with lance-shaped adult leaves, flower buds arranged in group of nine or eleven, white flowers and hemispherical fruit. DescriptionEucalyptus blaxlandii is a tree that grows to a height of {{convert|30-35|m|ft|0}} and forms a lignotuber. It has persistent, rough, dark brown to greyish stringy bark on the trunk and larger branches and smooth, whitish bark on the thinner ones. Young plants and coppice regrowth have glossy lance-shaped to egg-shaped leaves {{convert|40-80|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long, {{convert|15-40|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide that are a different green on the opposite sides of the leaves and have a petiole. Adult leaves are lance-shaped, {{convert|60-120|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|13-27|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide on a petiole {{convert|5-17|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and the same slightly glossy green on both sides. The flowers are usually borne in groups of nine or eleven in leaf axils on an unbranched peduncle {{convert|5-14|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long, the individual buds on a pedicel up to {{convert|3|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long. Mature buds are oblong or oval, about {{convert|6|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|3-4|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide with a rounded operculum. Flowering has been observed in March and November and the flowers are white. The fruit is a woody, sessile, hemispherical capsule {{convert|4-6|mm|in|sigfig=2|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|7-13|mm|in|sigfig=1|abbr=on}} wide with the valves level with the rim or slightly above.[2][3][4][5]Taxonomy and namingEucalyptus blaxlandii was first formally described in 1919 by Joseph Maiden and Richard Hind Cambage from a specimen collected at Blackheath by Maiden.
