Via the member associations (French FranceBiotech, German BioDeutschland, the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI), the Ethical Medicines Industry Group (EMIG) of the UK, the Swedish Associations SwedenBio and IML as well as Greek association [https://www.pef.gr/ PEF]) EUCOPE represents more than 900 mid-sized innovative member companies, many of them SMEs. EUCOPE membership includes - innovative family-owned businesses such as Ferring, B.Braun or Vianex
- companies focusing on rare disease treatments such as Achillion, Actelion, Aegerion, Akcea, Alexion, Alnylam, Amicus, Biogen, BioMarin, Bluebird Bio, Celgene, Celsion, CSL Behring, Cytokinetics, Grifols, Horizon, Incyte, Intercept, Kite Pharma, CTRS, Medac, Miltenyi Biotech, Nordic Nanovector, Onxeo, Orphan Europe, Ovid, Prothena, PTC, Santhera, Santen, Sarepta, Sobi, Takeda, Tesaro, Vertex, Vifor Pharma, Zealand Pharma and Zogenix.
EUCOPE, inter alia, represents its members with respect to international governmental organisations in particular towards the EU institutions (Council of the EU, EU Commission, European Parliament) and agencies (including the European Medicines Agency). - Enhanced research and development of rare disease solutions (Orphan drugs)
- Fostered pharmaceutical innovation by biopharmaceutical SMEs with:
- Strong pharmaceutical intellectual property and incentives
- Incentives for incremental research
- Reduced VAT rates for pharmaceuticals
