The population in 1901 was 114,849, compared with 113,041 in 1891. It contains 203 villages, of which Fatahjang (population, 4,825) is the headquarters. The land revenue and cesses amounted in 1903-4 to 1.9 lakhs. The tahsil is divided into three distinct parts. North of the Kala-Chitta is a small plain much cut up by ravines. South of the Khairi-Murat. (near Dhari village) is the fertile Sohan valley, while between the two ranges of hills lies a rough plain, narrow in the east and broadening towards the west".|source=Fatahjang - Imperial Gazetteer of India, v. 12, p. 74.}}LanguagesInhabitants of Fateh Jang Tehsil speak Sohain dialect of Punjabi language, the name is derived from Sohan River.[4] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://maps.google.com/maps?client=ms-android-vivo&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&gl=pk&entry=s&sa=X&ll=33.4793412,72.5678041&z=10&ftid=0x38df71100f7cd70b:0x795e2b1df7c6ea59&q=Fatehjang+Tehsil,+Punjab&ved=2ahUKEwiGw9T_p6bdAhVHzhoKHRajA7oQ8gEwAHoECAsQBw|title=Fatehjang Tehsil|website=Fatehjang Tehsil|language=en|access-date=2018-09-06}} {{Tehsils of Punjab (Pakistan)}}2. ^pind bahdar khan (aqeel khan)Tehsils & Unions in the District of Attock - Government of Pakistan {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120209043351/http://www.nrb.gov.pk/lg_election/union.asp?district=2&dn=Attock |date=2012-02-09 }} 3. ^{{cite book|last1=Konow|first1=Sten|title=Kharoshṭhī Inscriptions: With the Exception of Those of Aśoka|date=1991|publisher=Director General, Archaeological Survey of India|page=21|url=https://books.google.com/books?redir_esc=y&id=0ktxAAAAMAAJ&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=fateh+jang|accessdate=21 May 2017|language=en}} 4. ^{{cite book|last1=Masica|first1=Colon P.|title=The Indo-Aryan Languages|date=9 September 1993|publisher=Cambridge University Press|isbn=0521299446|page=19}} 2 : Populated places in Attock District|Tehsils of Punjab, Pakistan |
