Between 2005 and 2011, the company also included industrial and commercial powertrain activities that were subsequently spun-off as a separate entity named FPT Industrial who acted as a subsidiary of Fiat Industrial (now CNH Industrial). In January 2013 Fiat Powertrain Technologies was incorporated in Fiat Group Automobiles. The company had activities in nine different countries, it had 10 plants and around 20,000 employees.[3] With output of around 2.9 million engines and 2.4 million transmissions and axles annually, Fiat Powertrain Technologies is one of the largest companies in the powertrain sector.[4] Fiat Powertrain innovations
