He served as the head football coach at Arkansas State College—now known as Arkansas State University—from 1946 to 1953 and at the University of Toledo from 1954 to 1955, compiling a career college football record of 57–29–11. England was the author of the book Coaching the T Formation: A Veritable Bible of T Formation Coaching Information for Coaches and Players published in 1948.[1] England earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois College and a master's degree from the University of Missouri. After retiring from coaching he had a career in real estate.[2][3] Head coaching recordCollege{{CFB Yearly Record Start | type = coach | team = | conf = | bowl = | poll = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Arkansas State Indians | conf = Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference | startyear = 1946 | endyear = 1950 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1946 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 4–3–3 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1947 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 4–2–3 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1948 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 4–4–1 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1949 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 4–5 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1950 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 6–3 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Arkansas State Indians | conf = Independent | startyear = 1951 | endyear = 1953 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1951 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 10–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = Tangerine | bowloutcome = L | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1952 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 8–3 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1953 | name = Arkansas State | overall = 8–0–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = Tangerine | bowloutcome = T | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Arkansas State | overall = 48–22–9 | confrecord = }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Toledo Rockets | conf = Mid-American Conference | startyear = 1954 | endyear = 1955 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1954 | name = Toledo | overall = 6–2–1 | conference = 3–2 | confstanding = 4th | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1955 | name = Toledo | overall = 3–5–1 | conference = 2–4 | confstanding = 5th | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Toledo | overall = 9–7–2 | confrecord = 5–6 }}{{CFB Yearly Record End | overall = 57–29–11 | bowls = no | poll = no | polltype = | legend = no }} References1. ^{{cite web |url= http://www.worldcat.org/title/coaching-the-t-formation-a-veritable-bible-of-t-formation-coaching-information-for-coaches-and-players/oclc/3028857 |title= Coaching the T formation; a veritable Bible of T formation coaching information for coaches and players.
