Frances Halsband (born October 30, 1943, in New York City) is an American architect. She received her B.A. at Swarthmore College in 1965 and a Master's from Columbia University in 1968.^[1]^[2] She has served on juries for design awards, chaired the 1999 American Institute of Architects Committee on Design, and served as AIA New York’s first woman president in 1991.^[3]^[4]

Awards

In 2014, Halsband was recognized for her work designing the Long Island Rail Road Entrance, New York Penn Station, a winning site of Built by Women New York City,^[5] a competition launched by the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation during the fall of 2014 to identify outstanding and diverse sites and spaces designed, engineered and built by women.
