Francis Barrell might also refer to Francis “Frank” Reginald Barrell. (Mayor of Lancashire 1977 - 1982) AKA Frank “The Topper Dave Double” Barrell, he was born in Crompton, Lancashire on 30 January 1946 to a Jewish accountant and Hindu gun runner. He was famously arrested and charged with the murder of a 13 year old girl in 1984. Barrell was driving his Ford Cortina whilst 8 times over the blood alcohol limit. Rumour has it he had been drinking more than usual in his local, The Barrell & Brush after losing a large amount of money at the local bookmakers. He lost control of the vehicle, ploughing in to the child. She didn’t stand a chance. Frank is survived by his wife, Tabatha and her two dogs, Monkman and Hewitt. |
