BiographyItrich was born November 26, 1853 in Gross Katz, Germany in Polish family[1] and after entering the navy was sent as a chief carpenter's mate to fight in the Spanish–American War aboard the U.S.S. Petrel.[2] He died June 11, 1933 and is buried in San Francisco National Cemetery San Francisco, California.[3] His grave can be found in section OSA, grave 83-5.[3] Medal of Honor citationRank and organization: Chief Carpenter's Mate, U.S. Navy.
