It stays around 81–82 degrees Fahrenheit (27–28 Celsius) year-round.[4][5] Originally known as Smithville, Gandy was renamed in 1925 after Isaac Gandy, the first ranch owner in the area back when this was a post office stop along the Pony Express/Overland Route.[6] See also{{portal-inline|Utah}}References1. ^1 2 {{gnis|1437769|Gandy}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/prod/www/abs/decennial/|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060208103743/http://www.census.gov/prod/www/abs/decennial/|dead-url=yes|archive-date=8 Feb 2006|title=Census of Population and Housing|publisher=United States Census Bureau|accessdate=4 Nov 2011}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://water.nv.gov/hearings/spring%20valley%20hearings/SNWA/506/Volume_4/Spring_Discharge.pdf|title=Spring Discharge and Geothermometry Dataset|format=PDF [{{small|3.95 MB}}]|accessdate=4 May 2018|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090706054014/http://water.nv.gov/hearings/spring%20valley%20hearings/SNWA/506/Volume_4/Spring_Discharge.pdf|archivedate=6 Jul 2009}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://protectsnakevalley.com/takeatrip.html|title=Protect Snake Valley|website=protectsnakevalley.com|accessdate=4 May 2018}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/nndc/struts/results?t=100006&s=1&d=1|title=Thermal Springs List for the United States|website=ngdc.noaa.gov|publisher=National Centers for Environmental Information|accessdate=4 May 2018}} 6. ^{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=z3Pqk9tazU4C&pg=PA151|title=Utah Place Names: A Comprehensive Guide to the Origins of Geographic Names: A Compilation|last=Van Cott|first=John W.|publisher=University of Utah Press|location=Salt Lake City|page=151|year=1990|accessdate=4 May 2018|isbn=978-0-87480-345-7|oclc=797284427}} External links{{commons category-inline|Gandy, Utah}}{{Millard County, Utah}}{{Utah-geo-stub}} 4 : Unincorporated communities in Millard County, Utah|Unincorporated communities in Utah|Pony Express stations|Great Basin National Heritage Area |
