Gans (also, Gaus) is a former settlement in Humboldt County, California.^[1] It was located {{convert|13|mi|km}} south of Orick.^[1]

The Gaus post office opened in 1887, changed its name to Gans in 1888, moved several times, and closed for good in 1904.^[1] It was named for George W. Gans, a local landowner.^[1]
