He studied at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and at the Engineers' School, Fort Belvoir, USA.[2] He qualified as a quantity surveyor.[3] Lt. Col. G.A. Mohammed was Military Administrator of Niger State in Nigeria from 1986 to December 1987 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.[1] Brigadier General Garba Mohammed was appointed member / secretary of the National Economic Intelligence Committee when it was established on 17 February 1994.
