As of 1940, Gibbon had a school that served both Native American and European American children.[3] ClimateThis region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above {{convert|71.6|F|C}}. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Gibbon has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps.[6] References1. ^1 2 {{cite gnis|id=1142712|name= Gibbon|entrydate=November 28, 1980 |accessdate= September 8, 2016}} 2. ^{{cite book |title= Oregon Atlas & Gazetteer |edition= 7th |year= 2008 |publisher= DeLorme |location= Yarmouth, Maine |isbn= 0-89933-347-8 |page= 74}} 3. ^1 {{cite book |url= https://archive.org/details/oregonendoftrail00writrich |title= Oregon: End of the Trail |author= Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration in the State of Oregon |series= American Guide Series |year= 1940 |publisher= Binfords & Mort |location= Portland, Oregon |page= 259 |oclc= 4874569}} 4. ^1 2 3 4 5 {{Cite OGN|7th|pages=83–84, 400, 523-524}} 5. ^{{cite book | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=9V1IAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA137#v=onepage&q&f=false | title=The Origin of Certain Place Names in the United States | publisher=Govt.
