The community is concentrated around the intersection of Glidas Road SW and Hillcrest Drive, just off State Road 135 between Mauckport and Corydon. In earlier days, the community was an advance trading post for Mauckport where farm stores were collected for export on the Ohio River. A post office was established at Glidas in 1899, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1905.[2] There is a pumping station for the South Harrison Community Water Corporation on the eastern side of Glidas.
