{{Infobox_gene}}Glypican-6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GPC6 gene.[1][2]The glypicans comprise a family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored heparan sulfate proteoglycans. The glypicans have been implicated in the control of cell growth and division. Glypican 6 is a putative cell surface coreceptor for growth factors, extracellular matrix proteins, proteases and anti-proteases.[2] See alsoReferences1. ^{{cite journal |vauthors=Paine-Saunders S, Viviano BL, Saunders S | title = GPC6, a novel member of the glypican gene family, encodes a product structurally related to GPC4 and is colocalized with GPC5 on human chromosome 13 | journal = Genomics | volume = 57 | issue = 3 | pages = 455–8 |date=Aug 1999 | pmid = 10329016 | pmc = | doi = 10.1006/geno.1999.5793 }} 2. ^1 {{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: GPC6 glypican 6| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=10082| accessdate = }}
