Its seat is the town of Tuczno, which lies approximately {{convert|25|km|mi|0}} south-west of Wałcz and {{convert|107|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} east of the regional capital Szczecin. The gmina covers an area of {{convert|249.90|km2|sqmi|1}}, and as of 2006 its total population is 4,925 (out of which the population of Tuczno amounts to 1,965, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 2,960).
