Its seat is the village of Zatory, which lies approximately {{convert|13|km|mi|0}} south-east of Pułtusk and {{convert|45|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of {{convert|121.62|km2|sqmi|1}}, and as of 2006 its total population is 4,750 (4,824 in 2011).
