He earned a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the C R Reddy College, Eluru (Andhra University). His father Godavarthi Rama Rao, a famous person in the Achanta area who also served as Chairperson of Libraries of West Godavari Zilla Parishad and served as president of Achanta Panchayat in multiple terms. Political careerIn 1997, Sriramulu was elected the President of Achanta Panchayat in the West Godavari district, on a Telugu Desam Party ticket.[3] Gandharva MahalGandharva Mahal (Pedda Meda) is the home of Godavarthi Sri Ramulu and famous building of Achanta, known for its Architectural construction and splendid state of art interiors. Built in 1924 by Godavarthi Nageswara Rao (Grand father of Godavarthi Sri Ramulu) who got impressed from various renowned buildings and palaces after traveling around the country. Gandharva Mahal is famous for its paintings (Ravi Varma), beautiful mirrors, famous Piano (won silver award at the British Auction in England) and architecture. Lot of visitors around have a glance when they happen to pass by due to its new look. Rameswara Swamy TempleMahasivarathri (Night of Siva) is celebrated with grandeur at the Shiva temple in Achanta. The temple is flooded with devotees during the Shivaratri festival to pray to the powerful and holy God. During the festival, people around come and spend time in the mela buying fancy things. A committee of village elders monitor the famous free lunch during the festival time with the help of donations received from various donors.
