The village lies {{convert|1.5|mi|km}} north of its sister village Little Dunham and {{convert|7|mi|km}} by road north east from Swaffham. It is served by St.Andrews church[4] in the Benefice of Great Dunham.[5] Great Denham used to have a smock mill[6] which was superseded by a tower mill,[7] now derelict. There was once a Dunham railway station serving the two sister settlements. It is now closed.
