He is a Parliamentarian from the Barmer-Jaisalmer constituency in Rajasthan.[1] He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in May 2009.[2] He is a former National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.In 2018 legislative assembly elections he was declared mla from baytu.
