Hauser of Portland, who, with his sons, had a construction contract on the railroad in about 1914.[4][6] Hauser is also the namesake of the library at Reed College in Portland and he once owned the Multnomah Hotel.[7][8] Hauser post office ran from 1915 to 1957.[4] Charles D. McFarlin of Massachusetts built the first known cranberry bog on the West Coast in what is now Hauser in 1885.[9][10] References1. ^1 {{cite gnis |id= 1143366 |name= Hauser |entrydate= November 28, 1980 |accessdate= 2010-12-21}} {{Coos County, Oregon}}{{CoosCountyOR-geo-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite book |title= Oregon Atlas & Gazetteer |edition= 7th |year= 2008 |publisher= DeLorme |location= Yarmouth, Maine |isbn= 0-89933-347-8 |page= 44}} 3. ^{{cite gnis |id= 1147064 |name= North Slough |entrydate= November 28, 1980 |accessdate= 2010-12-21}} 4. ^1 2 3 {{Cite OGN|7th|page=451}} 5. ^{{cite book |url= https://archive.org/details/oregonendoftrail00writrich |title= Oregon: End of the Trail |author= Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration in the State of Oregon |series= American Guide Series |year= 1940 |publisher= Binfords & Mort |location= Portland, Oregon |page= 380 |oclc= 4874569}} 6. ^1 {{cite book |url= https://books.google.com/?id=4i1grNoMcWgC&dq=In+Search+of+Western+Oregon&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q=Hauser&f=false |title= In Search of Western Oregon |author= Friedman, Ralph |authorlink= Ralph Friedman |year= 1990 |edition= 2nd |page= 84|publisher= The Caxton Printers, Ltd |location= Caldwell, Idaho |isbn= 0-87004-332-3}} 7. ^{{cite journal |url= http://web.reed.edu/reed_magazine/Nov2000/a_short_history/3.html |title= The Reed Library: A Short History |work= Reed Magazine |date= November 2000 |accessdate= 2010-12-21}} 8. ^{{cite web |url= http://files.usgwarchives.org/or/multnomah/bios/hausersr457gbs.txt |title= Hauser, Sr., Eric V.
