Like majority of known planets, it was discovered using the radial velocity method. The planet has a minimum mass about quarter greater than Jupiter. It orbits the star in a slightly eccentric orbit in a mean distance 20% further than Earth orbits the Sun. Stability analysis reveals that the orbits of Earth-sized planets in the Trojan points of HD 188015 b would be stable for long periods of time.[1] References1. ^{{cite journal |journal=Astronomy & Astrophysics |doi=10.1051/0004-6361:20077994 | volume=474 |issue=3|pages=1023–1029 |title=Survey of the stability region of hypothetical habitable Trojan planets |author1=R.
