The Herluf Trolle class was a class of coastal defence ships of the Royal Danish Navy. The class comprised {{HDMS|Herluf Trolle|1899|2}}, {{HDMS|Olfert Fischer|1902|2}} and {{HDMS|Peder Skram|1908|2}}.

Design

Dimensions and machinery

The ships of the class were {{convert|82.87|m|ftin|0}} long, had a beam of {{convert|15.06|m|ftin|0}}, a draught of {{convert|4.93|m|ftin|0}}, and had a displacement of 3,494 tons. The ships were equipped with 2 shaft reciprocating engines, which were rated at {{convert|4200|ihp|lk=in|abbr=on}} and produced a top speed of {{convert|15.5|kn|lk=in}}.

Armour

The ships had belt armour of {{convert|8|in|cm|abbr=on}} and {{convert|7|in|cm|abbr=on}} turret armour.

Armament

The main armament of the ships were two {{convert|9.4|in|cm|abbr=on}} single turret guns. Secondary armament included four single {{convert|15|cm|in|abbr=on}} guns and ten {{convert|5.7|cm|in|abbr=on}} single guns.

Construction

Herluf Trolle was laid down at the Copenhagen Navy Yard and launched on 1 January 1899. Olfert Fischer was also laid down at Copenhagen Navy Yard and was launched on 1 January 1902.
