HMS Hunter was a {{sclass-|Handy|destroyer}} which served with the Royal Navy. She was built by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company yard in 1895, spent her career in home waters and was sold in 1912. Operational serviceIn 1896 Hunter was in reserve at Portsmouth.[2] In early December 1901 {{HMS|Wizard|1895|2}}, tender to {{HMS|Excellent|shore establishment|2}}, the shore establishment near Portsmouth, was damaged in a collision with a tug at Portsmouth. Her crew was transferred to Hunter during repairs.[3] She took part in the fleet review held at Spithead on 16 August 1902 for the coronation of King Edward VII.[4] References
