Service history

Shark served in the Channel Squadron in home waters throughout her career.

She served in the Devonport instructional flotilla, when in early February 1900 she was transferred to become tender to {{HMS|Cambridge|1869|6}}, gunnery school ship off Plymouth.[1] She took part in the Coronation Review for King Edward VII on 16 August 1902, with lieutenant A. S. Susmann temporarily in command from 8 August.[2] The following month she was replaced as tender on 11 September and paid off into the D Division of the Devonport Fleet Reserve.[3]

Shark was sold for scrap at Devonport for £1575 on 11 July 1911.[4]
