The A69 road used to pass through the village but now bypasses the village just to the north. GovernanceHorsley is in the parliamentary constituency of Hexham. LandmarksTwo miles north-west of the village are the remains of a medieval manor house and tower house at Welton Hall, now located within a farm complex. The tower house dates from the late fourteenth or early fifteenth century and is roofless. The manor house is even older, but has been much altered and rebuilt.[2] Two miles north-east of Horsley is the site of the Roman fort of Vindobala, of which little is now visible. Nearby is Rudchester Hall, a medieval pele tower, much altered and extended in Gothick style in the 18th and 19th centuries.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/dissemination/LeadKeyFigures.do?a=7&b=11124815&c=NE15+0AF&d=16&e=62&g=6453410&i=1001x1003x1032x1004&m=0&r=0&s=1435315945868&enc=1|title=Parish population 2011|accessdate=26 June 2015}} 2. ^Welton Hall at British Listed Buildings Online 3. ^Rudchester Hall at British Listed Buildings Online External links{{Commons category-inline|Horsley, Northumberland}}{{Northumberland-geo-stub}} 1 : Villages in Northumberland |
