The municipality covers an area of {{convert|15.91|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 1,458 (as at 3 July 2006). Hrušky lies approximately {{convert|8|km|mi|0}} north-east of Břeclav, {{convert|53|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Brno, and {{convert|235|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Prague. HistoryThe first written mention of the village dates from 1368. Notable people from the village include Czech-American philosopher Rudolph Krejci. References
