Its "flagship" beer is Delirium Tremens,[1] a golden ale. HistoryThe site of the brewery has been in operation since 1654.{{clarify|reason=By who? Official site doesn't claim they brewed there, just that brewing occurred|date=January 2015}} In 1906, Leon Huyghe purchased an existing brewery in the town.[2] The brewery acquired the present name in 1938. While the company initially brewed a regular pilsner, it soon began brewing the kinds of beers now typically known as "Belgian", including a series of beers under the "Delirium" tag, with pink elephants on the label.[3] The best known of these is Delirium Tremens, a blonde, Belgian ale.
