India's squad for the ODI series was announced on 18 January. The squad included: Sachin Tendulkar, Ishant Sharma, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Pragyan Ojha, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Yusuf Pathan, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja. The squad included: Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedera, Jehan Mubarak, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilina Kandamby, Muthiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thilan Thushara, Angelo Mathews. Kumar Sangakkara was the designated wicket keeper and Mahela Jayawardene who led the side. The squad was unchanged from the one that toured Pakistan.[5]
