The charitable Institute for Social Banking in Berlin, Germany, offers training, network and research on socially and ecologically oriented banking or "ethical banking". It was founded in 2006 by 12 ethical banking and finance institutions with the aim to deepen education for socially oriented banking and finance employees. The Institute for Social Banking also addresses the broader public to inform about the possibility of an alternative banking and finance system. The main projects of the Institute for Social Banking are an annual Summer School, a Certificate Course, Expert Exchange Labs, Inhouse Training for its members.[1][2] Furthermore, the Institute offers seminars to bankers, students and other interested people. Currently, the Institute for Social Banking consists of 15 member institutions.
