Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, and his family control the Interogo Foundation.[1] Royalties of 3% on all IKEA products has resulted in the foundation controlling assets valued at US$15 billion.[2] HistoryThe foundation was founded on the 29 March 1989 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. The aim of the foundation is to secure the continued existence of Inter IKEA Holding S.A. and to influence the leadership of the company.[3] GovernanceThe foundation board has at least two members, who were originally lawyers Herbert Oberhuber and Johannes Burger. The foundation may be changed into a company or a trust if circumstances have changed so that this is in the foundation's interests. Meetings of the board are announced by the president of the foundation.[3] Appo TrustThe members of Interogo Foundation can be appointed or replaced by the Appo Trust based in Ontario, Canada, or by an equal trust created by the Interogo Foundation.
