While not prosecuted for obscenity, the film was seized and confiscated in the UK under Section 3 of the Obscene Publications Act 1959 during the video nasty panic. PlotThe film centers around a group of druids called the "Sangroids" living in Westchester County, New York, who plan to resurrect their queen by draining the blood from unsuspecting civilians into her body.[2] ProductionThe film was shot on a proposed $24,000 budget over a three-week period, and Adlum reportedly paid most of the actors for their work with six-packs of beer.[1] The subpar production values are apparent, as night and day shots are mixed up throughout, creating very poor continuity. Michael Findlay was the film's editor.[1] ReceptionIn a retrospective review, critic Ross Peterson said that Invasion of the Blood Farmers was "action-packed—and gruesome, too", and "an accidental masterpiece".[2] References1. ^1 2 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068746/ {{DEFAULTSORT:Invasion Of The Blood Farmers}}{{exploitation-film-stub}}{{1970s-horror-film-stub}}2. ^1 http://horrornews.net/88002/film-review-invasion-blood-farmers-1972/ 3 : 1972 films|Exploitation films|1972 horror films |
