}} Jack Davis (16 July 1908 – 11 August 1991) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the VFL during the 1930s. A key position defender, Davis finished in the top 10 of the Brownlow Medal count four times, including third placing in 1933 and equal fifth in 1935.[1][2] He was a regular Victorian interstate representative and won St Kilda's best and fairest award in the 1934, 1935 and 1937 seasons.[1] In 1939 he went to Brighton in the Victorian Football Association as playing coach,[3] and in 1940, his final season, he won the Recorder Cup and V.F.A. Medal as best and fairest in the Association.[4] References1. ^1 {{cite book|last1=Holmesby|first1=Russell|last2=Main|first2=Jim|title=The Encyclopedia Of AFL Footballers| publisher=BAS Publishing|year=2007|isbn=9781920910785}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/J/Jack_Davis.html| title=Jack Davis| publisher=AFL Tables}} 3. ^{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article12099690 |title=Brighton Begins Training|newspaper=The Argus |location=Melbourne|date=21 February 1939|accessdate=19 March 2014|page=16 |publisher=National Library of Australia}} 4. ^{{cite news|newspaper=The Argus|publication-place=Melbourne, VIC|title=Exciting V.F.A. semi-final|date=16 September 1940|page=11|author=Percy Taylor}} External links
