Jackson ({{IPAc-en|ˈ|dʒ|æ|k|s|ən}}) is a common surname of English and Scottish origin. It literally means "son of Jack".[1] In 1980 Jackson was the 24th most popular surname in England and Wales.[2] In the 1990 United States Census, Jackson was the thirteenth most frequently reported surname, accounting for 0.3% of the population.[3]
