Jackson Pearce (born May 21, 1984)[1] is an American author. Her debut novel, As You Wish, was published by HarperCollins in 2009.

Personal life and education

Pearce was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Brookwood High School and went on to Georgia College & State University before transferring to and graduating from the University of Georgia.[2] Pearce posts humorous online video blogs and manages the author community 2009 Debutantes.[3][4]

Career

As You Wish

Pearce's debut novel, As You Wish, was published in Fall 2009 by HarperCollins under the HarperTeen imprint. The young adult urban fantasy book follows high school student Viola Cohen who inadvertently summons, then falls for, a young jinn after her boyfriend tells her a life-changing secret.[5]

Sisters Red

Sisters Red is the second novel by Jackson Pearce and the first in a series of fairy tale-inspired books. The novel follows Scarlet and Rosie March, sisters who have devoted their lives to fighting the Fenris, werewolves that prey on helpless girls. Sisters Red is loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood and borrows several themes from the story. The book was published June, 2010 by Little, Brown and Company in the United States, under the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers imprint. It is also being released by Hodder Children's Books in the UK and Commonwealth Nations.[6]

Sweetly

Sweetly is the second book in the fairy tale-inspired series by Jackson Pearce. The story is loosely based on the tale Hansel and Gretel. It was published by Little, Brown and Company in August 2011.[7]

Fathomless

Fathomless is the third book in the fairy tale-inspired series by Jackson Pearce. The story is a retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen tale The Little Mermaid. It was published by Little, Brown and Company on September 4, 2012.

Cold Spell

Cold Spell is the fourth book in the fairy tale-inspired series by Jackson Pearce. The story is a retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen tale The Snow Queen. It was published by Little, Brown and Company November 5, 2013. Jackson has said that this will be the last book in the series.

Purity

Purity is a contemporary novel about a girl trying to lose her virginity before her purity ball. It was released by Little, Brown and Company on April 24, 2012.

Tsarina

Tsarina is Jackson's first book to be published under the pen name J. Nelle Patrick. In the midst of the Russian Revolution, a young noble girl must find a powerful, mystical Faberge egg in order to save Russia – and the life of Alexei Romanov. It is due to be published by Razorbill in Winter 2014.

The Doublecross Book 1

The Doublecross (And Other Skills I Learned as a Super Spy) is Jackson's debut middle-grade novel. The story follows Hale Jordan, the big-boned child of two spy parents who is often overlooked by his spy-school classmates. But when his parents are kidnapped, he might be the only one (with a little help from his younger sister) who can save the day. It is due to be published by Bloomsbury in Winter 2015.

The Doublecross Book 2

This book will continue the story of Hale Jordan. It will be Jackson's second middle-grade novel, and ninth novel in total. It is due to be published by Bloomsbury, presumably in 2016.

Pip Bartlett's Guide to Magical Creatures

Jackson's website describes the novel: "Pip is a girl who can talk to magical creatures. Her aunt is a vet for magical creatures. And her new friend Tomas is allergic to most magical creatures. Written with Maggie Stiefvater, PIP BARTLETT is the first in a middle grade series, coming May 2015."
